The Ultimate sacrifice

I have never fully understood the ultimate sacrifice that people in the military give. It is not just being willing to give your life for your country. Its being away from your family for 7 months (or more) at a time when your precious little baby girl was just born three months ago. Missing being there for all of those "firsts" and having your baby not know who you are when you get back because they are now 1 and havn't seen you since they were three months old.
As of yesterday my baby brother is deployed for the next 7 months. He has a beautiful wife and baby girl waiting at home for him that will miss him with everything that is in him. Along with a family that will miss him terribly. Some people say that you only give the ultimate sacrifice when you give your life for your country......not so.

Also not only the person being deployed give the ultimate sacrifice. Think of all of those Mama's (and Papa's) out there that are raising babies on their own so that their other half can be protecting our land......protecting us. Never forget the sacrifices that are given so that we can be safe!

    Wow, that brings tears to my eyes. I couldn't imagine doing that from either end.
