Ever since we moved into our house more than 4 years ago I have had a very hard time drinking enough water. We have well water and lets just say that it is disgusting and not appetizing at all so I just don't drink it (I can't even imagine all of the nastyness that is in it!!). Commonly you will find lead, parasitic cysts, non-pathogenic micro-organisms and unpleasant levels of chlorine in just normal tap water, so I cant imagine all that is in water that tastes so nasty! I do buy bottled water, but just don't drink anywhere close to enough water and I hate having to throw all of those bottles away! I would just refill them......but cant because of out nasty water. Also I have heard that bottled water is typically no safer or healthier than tap water? What is even worse is the chemicals that can leach from plastic bottles into the water inside.
I had to be especially careful when I was pregnant to make sure and drink enough. I had a lot of trouble with getting lightheaded and had to drink lots of water so that I didn't get dehydrated. When offered the chance to try out the Zuvo water filtration system I jumped at the chance!
The Zuvo unit can be used in two different ways. You can sit it on top of your counter and attach it to your faucet (which didn't work for us since our cabinets are too low and it wouldn't fit. The wonderful people at Zuvo were nice enough to send us the under the counter attachments.) Or you can also get an under-the-counter attachment so that you can just hook the Zuvo up under your sink and you just attach the included water butler spout to your sink and get your filtered water from there. The Zuvo Water Filtration System makes tap water safer and more delicious for the whole family to drink......and, unlike pitcher water systems, it offers UNLIMITED fresh water for the whole family year around!!
The Zuvo system will work well in almost any kitchen. If you have a kitchen counter with a lot of extra space you can just get the basic Zuvo that attaches to your kitchen faucet. It is very easy to hook up (just screw it onto your water faucet) and is a great way to get fresh, clean, great tasting water. If you don't have the extra space like us, just get the under the counter attachment to go along with it. It will take a little longer to hook up since you have to attach it under the counter, I needed my husbands help to hook it up (because I don't have a clue about that kinds of stuff) but it hooks up well and you can have great tasting water coming right from your sink! When you turn the unit on you can quickly see it doing its job cleaning the water. It has 8w UV bulbs that make the unit glow bright blue while it is in use. You can see your water getting clean right in front of you. The awesome thing about the Zuvo is that to run the system it uses less energy that it would take to run your toaster!
How it Works:
Step 1: Ozonation
In nature, ozone is generated by lightning and cleans the air where rainwater forms. The Zuvo Water Purator mixes ozone with incoming tap water to treat taste and odor contaminants and improve taste. Like chlorine, ozone is a powerful oxidizer. Unlike chlorine, ozone leaves no chemical residue.
Step 2: Ultraviolet Light
The ozone saturated water is flooded with high-intensity UV light – the same as the solar energy that cleans water in the upper atmosphere.
Step 3: Photo-oxidation
The Zuvo Water Purator combines UV and ozone in a patented process known as photo-oxidation which releases powerful oxidizers to further treat the waterStep 4: filtration with lead removal
Pure spring water is created by passing through fine particles in the earth. Zuvo uses the same principle by passing water through a Class 1 Particulate Reduction Filter, reducing chlorine taste and odor, lead, and tiny particulates.
Step 5: post-filtration UV
The filtered water is again exposed to high-intensity UV light as it leaves the Zuvo Water Purator, ensuring that you get clean, healthy, great tasting water…just the way nature intended!
How much money can you save by using the ZUVO???
Water pitchers and filters are readily available in almost any store.....but how well do they work and do they actually save you money in the long run?? Take a look at the picture below and see just how much the Zuvo water filtration unit could save you!!
The thing that we don't like about the Zuvo unit is that the water comes out pretty slow. If you are needing a lot of water you do have to wait for quite a while. It has a 1/2 gallon per minute flow so if you are needing to fill up a pot it could take 3 or 4 minutes to fill up.
Buy one of your own:
You can get a Zuvo Water Filtration Unit of your own on Amazon or any of the other stores listed HERE. They run anywhere from $149 to $311 depending on the kind you get and if you get the under the counter attachments to go with it.
WIN HERE!!!
Zuvo was awesome enough to offer one of my readers a ZUVO water purator unit for FREE!
