***BABY BLESSINGS-Rockin Baby Sling Review & GIVEAWAY***

With having two kiddos now baby wearing is a must for me. Especially after my parents go home and I don't have anyone around the house to help me with going to the store or shopping with two kiddos while my hubby is at work.  I love being able to carry Baby D in a carrier/sling and then still be able to have Monkey in the cart when we go shopping.  (Besides I love snuggling with my kiddos anyways) It is so nice to not have to worry about him running off while I am carrying the baby too......and not many stores have carts that are compatible with 2 kids and a cart full of groceries.  

 

I love being able to try out all of the different kinds of baby carriers and slings. There are so many options out there that I didn't have a clue about when Monkey was a baby.  I think that I have found my favorite pouch sling though! Rockin' Baby Sling was wonderful enough to send me an adjustable pouch sling in "My Baby Just Cares for Me" print for review. Rockin’ Baby Pouches are made from a single loop of very high quality fabric that you put over your head and it rests on one shoulder. They are fully adjustable and reversible and can be used with a wide age range of kiddos. Rockin' Baby Sling carries so many gorgeous colors of pouch slings and also has a bunch of beautiful ring slings to choose from. 

 One thing that sets their slings apart from many others is the adjustability and comfort. My absolute favorite thing about their pouch slings is that they can be adjusted to four different sizes by using the hidden zippers. It is so easy to do and makes your pouch sling last so much longer. All that you have to do is adjust before you put the sling on and you are good to go. If you need to change it to a smaller/larger size at a later point just un-zip it and change the size. No having to go out and buy a new sling just because your kiddo got too big or you changed size. 

All of their pouches are also reversible from a print side to a solid color. Many of their pouches are also very dad friendly colors so that you don't have to have a separate carrier for Dad and Mom. The pouch is a good choice if you would like to put it at one setting, leave it, and go or if you have more than one kiddo that you carry so that you can easily adjust it. The sling that I received is gorgeous dark brown with a green leaf print on the outside and on the inside it is dark brown. The sling is so comfortable and works great for even a tiny newborn. The strap that goes over your shoulder is very soft and nicely padded so it doesn't dig into my shoulder like others I have tried. It also has padding running along the outside of the carrier so that it is more comfortable for the kiddo you are carrying. The quality, fabric, and make of the sling is excellent and I can tell that it will withstand a lot of use. Compared to a few other pouch slings that I have tried the fabric is probably three times as thick and I can just tell that it is good quality fabric that won't tear or coma apart. All-in-all I LOVE this carrier and would definitely recommend it to anyone that is looking for a carrier.

As the weather gets colder and colder, the icy wind starts blowing, and the snow starts falling it gets harder and harder to keep our little ones warm when we go outside. I always have to remember to bring a blanket with us when we go out so that I can keep Baby D warm.....I have so much going on now that sometimes it is just hard to remember all that I need to bring along with us. 

The Wiggy Roll was created by a Mom out of necessity. It was invented so that they had a blanket that was with them all the times and was easy to carry. No blankets hanging off of the car seat or blowing off of your baby from the wind.  It is the first ever car seat blanket to be out on the market! It is made with oh so soft 100% anti-pill fleece that will keep your little one nice and warm in the winter months.  It eliminates the problem of forgetting to bring the blanket with! The Wiggy Roll attaches by velcro to the car seat and rolls up out of the way when not in use.

We have used the Wiggy Roll every time we have gone out since Baby D was born and I LOVE it! It is so nice to have a blanket that is attached to the car seat so that I don't always have to worry about remembering a blanket when we go out. I also don't have to worry about his blanket blowing away with the strong wind. I still typically bring a second blanket when we go out, but I dont have to worry about being stuck out and about with no blanket to keep him warm.

The wiggy roll is SO easy to use! All that you do is strap the blanket around the bottom strap on the car seat and tuck your little one in nice and tight after they are strapped in. If it gets warm enough to not need to use the blanket all that you do is roll it up and Velcro it closed. It will just hang on your car seat until you need to use it the next time.

The Wiggy Roll would make a great Baby Shower gift for any new Mom. It eliminates one out of the millions of things that we need to worry about when we have a new baby in the house. We LOVE our blanket and it will be used on Baby D's car seat until it either gets too warm to need a blanket or he outgrows it.

***BABY BLESSINGS-Kolcraft Contours Options II Double Stroller Review & GIVEAWAY***

These last few weeks before the baby is born is being spent getting ready and checking things off the list that we need. We already have almost everything that we needed from when Monkey was born, but one BIG thing on the list was a double stroller! Having to lug around two kiddos definitely calls for a double stroller to make life easier!

I have spent some time online in the last month or so looking at our different options for double strollers and seeing whats out there. I knew that I didn't want a side-by-side stroller just because you can't even fit through some doors with those so that narrowed our options a lot. We could either get a "cheap" stroller from one of the big box stores around town, a SUPER expensive one online......which isn't going to happen, or the one that I have been eying for MONTHS! The Kolcraft Contours Options II Tandem Stroller.

When I heard that I was going to get to review the Contours Options II double stroller lets just say that I was beyond ecstatic! I love every aspect of this stroller and can't wait to tell you about it. We received the stroller about a week and a half ago and we all LOVE it so far! I love the versatility of the stroller and all of the different options that it comes with.....none of which have I seen in other brands for the same price.  Monkey just loves to ride around in it thinks that it is the coolest new toy ever.

SHIPPING AND ASSEMBLY

As soon as we received this stroller on our front steps I tore the box open and got it all ready to put together (I promise I wasn't excited at all.....well maybe just a little bit). The stroller was packed very well into the box and didn't have any excess room to flop around and get damaged. All of the loose parts were packed tightly in the box and wrapped in bubble wrap or Styrofoam.  After we got all of the pieces out of the box we got all ready to put the stroller together. I did have my husbands help to put it together since he was home at the time, but I am pretty sure that I could have done it myself with a little time. The directions were easy to understand and we had the stroller put together in 30 minutes or so.

 DIFFERENT SEAT ARRANGEMENTS

My favorite aspect of this stroller is all of the different options that is has for seating! It has 6 different positions to put the seats in. If you are wanting both of your kiddos facing you, you can do that. You can have them both face forward, have them facing each other, back to back, use the front seat only with a toddler and have the back area for storage, or you can use the infant car seat attachment (that comes with the stroller) and have one seat attached along with a car seat. The seats are removable with the touch of a button on each side of the seat. They are SO simple to change and anyone can figure out how to do it. It takes mere seconds to change both of the seats into different positions.

CAR SEAT ATTACHMENT 

I love that you can use this stroller with your car seat. I have never liked the big bulky travel systems so this is the perfect way to compromise. You can un-snap the stroller seat and have the car seat attachment snapped into the stroller in less than 30 seconds (if that). If you have twins you can also buy a second car seat attachment so that you can have two car seats attached at once. There are MANY car seats that are compatible with this stroller. Just go HERE and click on specs to find out if yours is. We are using the Safety 1st OnBoard Air complete infant car seat and it fits into the attachment great. (It also matches the stroller perfectly which is really nice!) I know that this feature is going to be used A LOT in the next few months when the baby is too small to be in the normal stroller seat.

RECLINING SEATS

I absolutely LOVE this feature. All of the other strollers that we have tried out say that they have "reclining seats" but they have nothing on this stroller! You can recline the seats on the Contours stroller all of the way flat and the foot rest also folds flat so that your kiddo can lay all of the way down. It is inevitable that when you go out and about with two kiddos that one or both of them is going to fall asleep at one point or another. There is nothing more frustrating than having a stroller that doesn't recline far enough for a baby to actually sleep comfortably.

CUP HOLDERS FOR PARENTS AND KIDS

Cup Holders are a must in ANY stroller......double or not. It is so frustrating not having anywhere to put your drink, your kiddos sippy cup, or even just your keys. It is so nice for Monkey to be able to have his cup close by so that I don't have to keep handing it to him. He LOVES being able to have his own place to put his cup right next to him. These cup holders are also really nice because they have slits in the bottom of them to let water that collects drip out of the bottom that so that it doesn't just pool up.

There is also a center compartment that is great for keys, cell phone, wallet, or anything that you want to keep close by.

WHEELS & TURNING

For a double stroller this one maneuvers and turns great! For our big stroller testing outing we went to the zoo to try it out. With all of the people to maneuver around, doors to go in and out of, and hills to go up and down it was SOOO easy to use. In some ways it is easier to turn than our single stroller. Like any double stroller you definitely have to get used to how long it is so that you don't bump into things, but after you figure that out it is a breeze. The ride is very smooth and it rolls great on all kinds of different surfaces. It has swivel wheels on the front so that it can basically turn on a dime. It is the smoothest ride on a double stroller that I have tried so far.

ADJUSTABLE CANOPY

The seats have awesome canopy's that are plenty big enough to keep the sun out of your kiddos eyes whether they are big or small,  while still allowing them to see what is going on around them. They also have a 5-Position adjusting system so that you can use the stroller for smaller/bigger kids and still have the sun blocked from their eyes. You can easily and quickly adjust the canopy up and down easily when you have different sized kiddos in the seat. Each seat also has a "peek-a-boo" window so that you can see your kiddo at all times.

HUGE STORAGE BASKET

Most strollers have a small-medium sized stroller basket. You can basically fit your diaper bag (if that) in there and maybe a blanket.....but not much else. This stroller has a HUUUGE storage basket that runs under both of the seats. You definitely don't have to worry about running out of storage space with this. We were able to fit our diaper bag, my friends purse, my purse, camera, a blanket, and extra drinks with PLENTY of space to spare.

COLLAPSING / STORAGE

To collapse the stroller takes about 5 seconds. It is very easy to figure out and quick to do. I was curious if the stroller was going to fit in our trunk since we just have a car, BUT it fits great!!! We have a Hyundai Sonata and it fits in the trunk with plenty of space to fit other things that you need.

***BABY BLESSINGS-Bashful Bump Maternity BodySuit Review & GIVEAWAY***

One of the most frustrating things when you are ginormously pregnant is trying to keep your belly and back covered. With a belly the size of a small planet there is no extra room in your shirt to keep yourself covered. Every spare inch of fabric is taken up by belly. Now that I am getting down to my last few weeks of pregnancy most of my shirts are running on the small side so I HAVE to wear something under them to stay covered. I basically live in my maternity undershirt because it is long enough to keep my belly covered (well marginally). But the problem is that it doesn't keep my back covered when I sit down.  

What I have to tell you about it a brilliant invention that every prego mama should have.....the Bashful Bump Maternity Body Suit. Bashful Bump was created when Amy (the owner) was pregnant with her second child. Struggling with keeping her back and belly covered in her later months of pregnancy she went searching for something to help her out. Not finding anything that would work she decided to make something herself. After she made herself a body suit she figured that if she couldn't find something that would work, there had to be other people out there that were looking too. So she started Bashful Bump!

Amy was wonderful enough to send me a Black Camisole Body Suit for review. As soon as I received it in the mail I had to put it on. The first thing that I noticed was just how soft it is. Soft is a GREAT thing when you are pregnant because your belly gets so itchy. Having something that is gentle on the belly is so much more comfortable than something that makes the itching worse. The fabric is great quality and does a great job!

All of their bodysuits are made of a knit fabric so they shouldn't pill, fade or lose shape with time. There is a built in shelf bra to give a little extra support and the snaps for the bodysuit are moved forward so they are easier to reach. We all know how hard it is to sit down none the less reach below your big belly to snap something. I am basically about to pop and I can still pretty easily reach the snaps.  One of my favorite features of the camisole is the flattering side ruching. It is made so that it is flattering being worn as a normal shirt as well as an under shirt. All four types of Bashful Bump Body Suits (camisole, cap sleeve, tank top and three quarter sleeve) are great to wear alone or as a layering essential. I am confident that I will be able to wear it up until I give birth. It has plenty of stretch to accommodate my growing belly.

When I have used my camisole the most is for wearing during my prenatal yoga class. Before I got it I kept having to pull my shirt down over and over again. Now I don't have to worry about it and I can be confident that I am covered at all times.

 OUR REVIEW:

Belle was wonderful enough to send us a Black Organic Baby Carrier for free in exchange for our review. I absolutely LOVE baby wearing my Monkey Man and can't wait to snuggle our new baby close when he comes sometime in the next few weeks. Monkey has never been a big snuggler so I take every chance that I can get to snuggle with him. The only way that I can do that most of the time is to have him in a carrier. I am so sad that we didn't have a good baby carrier when he was little because we missed out on so much bonding time.  I am deffinately making up for that with this baby!

 Colors/Prints/Fabrics:

Belle Baby Carriers are offered in twelve beautiful patterns and solid colors, which includes five organic baby carriers that are made of Hemp/Organic cotton fabrics. They have a color/style  to suite everyones taste. I had a really hard time choosing which carrier that I wanted to try out because I love the colors of so many of them, but I finally decided on the black one because it will match anything that I wear and it will stay clean better. Many of the colors are also great colors for daddy baby wearers.   

Materials:

The carrier that we received is oh so soft on the inside where it touches your babies skin. It is made from 100% Certified Organic Cotton like all of their other Organic carriers. It is all black cotton and hemp blended fabrics with white contrast stitching on the outside and the inside liner is a soft undyed fleece in a natural off-white color. The outer fabric wipes clean easily and is very tough so that it will hold up to years of wear.  

When I received the carrier in the mail I was amazed at just how lightweight and compact it is. It can very easily be folded up and placed in your diaper bag or packed in whatever bag you are taking out and about. Since it is so lightweight and doesn't have the bulk of many others it will do a great job of keeping your baby cool in the hot summer months. 

Comfort:

Since I am ginormously pregnant at the moment I havn't actually been able to baby wear with this carrier yet since it is a front carrier (besides Monkey is too big). I have tried it on and it seems like it would be very comfortable.....but there just isn't enough room to fit a kiddo and my big belly at once :) But I will make sure to try it out as soon as I can after the baby is born and post an update. I can't wait to see how the straps do for back support!

 

Unlike many other baby carriers the Belle allows for direct contact between you and your baby. You can have your little one snuggled directly against you without any sort of straps or fabric in between you which allows for increased bonding and very discreet nursing. Every Belle Carrier also comes with a lightweight detachable head support panel for additional head/neck support for your little one when needed. Head support is a must have for newborns and wonderful for when your baby still has a wobbly neck. The shoulder straps are also nicely padded for your comfort and the stiching is very well done. Great care is put into your childs safety and your comfort.

 The Belle carrier allows your baby to face toward you or away from you and is very easy to use. It is made to distribute your baby's weight to your hips, instead of your back and shoulders, and places your baby in a proper, ergonomic position that supports your baby's developing spine. Instead of straps that just go over the shoulders, it has straps that cross over your back (like an X) to help with strain on your back and neck. It help even out the weight and make carrying more comfortable even for long periods of time. The Belle carrier is ideal for infants that are between 8-30 pounds.  So in most cases this carrier will work from about a month old to 2 years old or so.

Adjustability:

Simple adjusting is key to a good baby carrier.  At least for me I tend to not use the carriers that are complicated to use and cant be put on in just a few seconds.  On this carrier there are two very simple points of adjustment.  There are the buckles on the cross-over straps that hold the upper part of the carrier up (with tightening buckles on each side), and the waist belt which will helps distribute the weight of the baby so that it doesn't strain your back. It is very easy to adjust when switching who is carrying the baby.  

Care:

If your carrier is needing to be cleaned first try spot cleaning it. Trying this first will help your carrier hold up longer......if it does need to be washed you can either hand wash it or throw it in the washer on delicate. NEVER put your carrier in the dryer....it could shrink and not fit right anymore. Just hang it to dry.
