Rubbermaid Hidden Recycler Review and Giveaway!

Recycling has never been one of my strong suits.......I just never liked having to have a slimy paper bag on the counter to put stuff in or some sort of container sitting out looking nasty with the recycling in it. My kitchen is usually place that gets the messiest with all of the dishes and appliances laying around so I cant handle another thing on my already crowded counters. I was so excited when I heard from Rubbermaid about reviewing their *hidden* recycler!!! The one reason why I wasn't consistently recycling was now no longer valid!

Here are the features of the hidden recycler:
  • Compact and great for apartment living.
  • Easy to attach to your cabinet door. Hooks and screws included.
  • Handle allows the bag to be transported to wherever you dump your recycling.
  • Has a  5 gallon capacity and holds up to 36 12-ounce cans and can fit milk jugs.
  • Made from 65% post-consumer resin
  • Leak-proof and machine washable when dirty.
  • Soft-sided bag allows for flexibility inside any cabinet.
I love anything that can help me keep my kitchen/house clean and more organized. By allowing me to keep my recycling out of sight and off the counter I have no excuse not to recycle.
When I opened the Hidden recycler I was pleasantly surprised by how few pieces that there were. All that I had to do was attach the handle to the bag and snap the lid on top. To put everything together all you have to do is slide the handle up around the bag from the bottom and snap the hooks through the holes. It was very easy to get put together and quick to install.
The hidden recycler comes with two hooks for attaching the bag over the top of the door. It also comes with screws so that you can permanently attach it to your cabinets. I would have preferred to have attached the bag to the door under my sink with the screws but we have really old cabines and the doors are too thin to use the screws. I just used the hooks and attached it over the edge of the door which only took half a second to install.
Once everything was in place the bag felt very secure and it held nice and tight (but not too tight) to the door.
The bag has a 5 gallon capacity and holds up to 36 12-ounce cans and can also fit 1 gallon milk jugs. This is awesome for us because we drink ALOT of milk in our house. The bag is also, leak-proof, machine washable, and made of recycled material.

It will take different families longer/shorter to fill up the bag depending on how much you have to recycle. When the bag is full all you have to do to empty is pull the bag off of the lid, empty it, and hook it back on! As easy as that!!
