4G BOBA baby carrier review!!!

As the years go by and now that I have three kiddos I have very much learn to appreciate baby carriers more and more.  I no longer have enough hands to keep up with all three kiddos and there is no longer enough room in my shopping cart to easily go shopping (is it ever easy to go shopping with 3 kiddos??.....but anyway....).  Wearing baby girl is a must for shopping and makes my life so much easier.  When my eldest was first born I didn't have a clue about what my baby wearing options were out there.  I just thought that the baby carriers in big box stores were the only ones available (and 5 years ago basically all you could buy were Snuggli crotch danglers in the store.) As the years have gone by and I have have expanded my baby-wearing experience I have realized the power of a GOOD carrier. I have used BOBA carriers for probably three to four years and they just keep making them better and better with each new one they make!

Ever since I got my 2G a few years ago BOBA has been my favorite brand to carry with. It is so amazingly comfortable and is very easy to put on and take off. They are designed to where babies spine and legs are in a safe position and it is so comfortable for me to wear. With the 3G I loved that it had the snaps to make it smaller so that I could use it with a newborn.  The only thing that I didn't like about it was that you had to re-thread the waist straps to use it with an infant since you had to fold the strap over and snap it. If you switch back and fourth from your newborn to an older kiddo it took a little bit to re-thread the straps. Now BOBA has come out with the awesome new 4G baby carrier that has a built in (but removable) infant insert. The only other carrier that I have tried out that has an infant insert was the ERGO carrier. The thing that I never liked about the ERGO was the infant insert. It is so bulky, was too warm in the summer, and I always had to make sure that I had both the carrier and the insert with me. The new 4G has a snap in pillow like insert in the bottom of the carrier that your baby sits on top of. It is not an added thing that you have to put in each time. It just stays in your carrier until you no longer need it.

The second I received my new BOBA 3G I was in love (once again!). The new features are amazing and the fabric is extremely high quality as usual.  No more flipping and snapping the waist band, no more having to re-thread the waist straps!! All you have to do is snap in the little pillow thingy that sits under their little booty and you are good to go!
There are two positions that you can have the pillow in. The first is for brand new babies that need more support and need to be held higher up. For babies 7-10 lbs you fold and snap the pillow in half which gets your babe up higher and it basically keeps them in the fetal tuck position. Then for a little older baby (10-14lbs) if you un-fold the pillow they will just sit on top of it for just a little boost. When it is unfolded it is basically a kidney bean shaped pillow that your babies bottom rests on the center of. It will keep her legs held up in an M shape since they aren't long enough to be outside of the carrier yet.
One other change that BOBA made with the 4G carrier is that the hood has been modified. Before you could only snap the hood on the side that it came from. Now the straps are long enough to bring from one side to the other and be able to snap it so that it acts as head support for your newborn. It works very much like the shoulder straps on the BOBA Wrap.

So like the other BOBA carriers this one is top notch! It is well thought out, very comfortable, safe for your little one, and will work well from birth to toddler.
