***AIR-O-SWISS Digital Warm & Cool Mist Ultrasonic Humidifier review and GIVEAWAY***

These last few months Monkey has had head colds off and on every few weeks or so. He would wake up every few hours at night because he just couldn't breathe. If only he was old enough to know how to blow his nose on his own life would be much easier, but I have recently learned that a humidifier does wonders for his breathing and sleeping at night. Dunja over at Air-O-Swiss was amazing enough to let us review one of their amazing humidifiers.  We started using our Air-O-Swiss Digital Warm and Cool Mist Ultrasonic Humidifier about three weeks ago and Monkeys sleeping has drastically gotten better while he is sick and has a stuffy nose.

The Digital Ultrasonic humidifier uses high-frequency vibrations to generate a micro-fine mist that when released into a room it immediately evaporates into the air. It works amazingly well and puts out an amazing amount of mist. We actually only have to put the humidifier on low for Monkeys room size. I made the mistake of using it on high one night because I wasn't paying attention when I turned it on and in the morning when I went in to get Monkey it was a little foggy in his room. You could very easily use this humidifier in a VERY large room and it would do a great job still. It can humidify rooms up to 650 square feet. The very cool thing about this humidifier is that it monitors the humidity levels in the room and automatically adjusts when temperatures/humidity levels change. So if the levels get too high/low it will adjust to meet the levels in the room to keep it constant. You can also select whether the machine puts out warm or cool mist. Just choose the pre-heating setting and the mist will exit the machine at a pleasant 104 °F.   The warm steam is really nice for stuffy heads because it clears out their sinuses so well

One of our greatest worries with humidifiers is our water. We have EXTREMELY hard water (even our filtered water still leaves thick calcium residue with other humidifiers that we have used) and I was afraid that it would leave calcium residue or get all gunky on the inside of the machine because all of the minerals that we have.  With other machines that have been used with our water we would have to chip off calcium residue daily after every use all because of our water. I was wonderfully surprised when I tried this machine and it didnt leave one bit of residue or calcium gunk at all.  The machine has a Demineralization Cartridge that when properly installed and maintained, it effectively helps to prevent the release of minerals in the air and it catches all of the minerals so that they don't build up in your machine. It also helps prevent microbial growth in the water base while the machine is not being used. You can use the cartridge for 2 – 3 months and after that you can either replace the beads in it or replace the whole cartridge.

 

The water tank is very easy to fill up and install onto your machine. You just turn over the tank and unscrew the water cap to fill it up. After filling the tank you just screw the cap back on tightly, turn the tank over, and sit it on top of the flat part of the machine. The display will say that the tank is empty for a few seconds until the bottom of the unit fills up with water. After that it will alert you when all of the water gets used up so that it can be refilled. The tank is also see-through so it is easy to determine when you need to refill it without having to look at the display.
