When looking for safety products for my house I want something that I know is going to last a LONG time and that will keep my kids safe. Summer Infant is one of the biggest names in kids safety products and its a name that you can trust. I have bought other things from them before and they are all great quality and have lasted a long time.

Keeping my boys safe has always been a huge priority. Our living room has very steep stairs in it and I am always scared every time that Monkey goes upstairs. He has never been close to falling on the stairs, but I guess that it is just the mommy in me that gets freaked out anytime he wants to go up.

 As soon as we received the gate I put it up at the bottom of our stairs. It was so easy to put up and looks so nice (unfortunately the opening isn't wide enough to be able to use the metal extenders which would make it look much nicer). The gate is pressure mounted so you don't have to worry about mounting the gate to your wall and it is very easy to put up and down. It is really nice having the gate extensions (that are included then you buy the gate) because you can use it on a wide rage of doors.  It is fully adjustable to fit openings from 29.5” to 40.5” wide and is 30” tall. With our stairs we only had to use the gate with no extensions and it fits perfectly and stays nice and snug against the wall.

The old gate that we used to have was a solid gate without an opening door so it was a PAIN IN THE NECK. Every time that we had to go upstairs we had to climb over the gate which is a huge hastle when you are trying to carry things upstairs or when Monkey is coming up the stairs with me. The Stylish & Secure gate has a very easy to use latched door in it that can be opened with one hand. The door also swings closed automatically and locks when you let go of it so you don't have to worry about accidentally not closing it and your kid getting through. 

The wooden gate itself is pretty much all put together when you take it out of the box. All you have to do is measure your doorway to determine how many, if any, extensions you will need and go from there. The gate is incredibly easy to install and can be done in just a few minutes! If you do end up needing the extensions all you do is slide them into the side of the gate.

The pressure mounts on the side have a protective cushion to protect your walls from damage which is very nice. To tighten them you just turn the dial or you can use the special wrench that is included. I tightened up the gate myself and it hasn't moved at all.

To open the gate there is a small button on the top the you slide back with your finger while pulling up on the gate. It's very easy to open for an adult but not for kids so you don't have to worry about your kiddos figuring it out.
